According to The Samaritans, deaths from suicide rose by 10.9% in 2018. This qualification aims to raise awareness around suicide. Through this qualification you will gain an understanding of the context of suicide, the impact of stressful situations on an individual, how individuals cope differently with stressful situations, the possible effects of stressful situations on an individual’s wellbeing, how an individual’s outlook might impact their susceptibility to suicidal thoughts, the importance of talking about suicide, suicidal thoughts and seeking support.
A requirement for the course is that you have a minimum of Level 1 in English and Mathematics or be prepared to sit an English and Mathematics assessment to establish your current levels. All learning will take place using an interactive distance learning platform and you will learn through independent research. An HSDC assessor will be on hand for any queries and they will mark your assessments and provide you with feedback.
You will be assessed through online assessment.
On completion of this course, you will be workplace ready or have enhanced your existing work skills.
