Overview

This course will give you the skills and knowledge you need to set you on the path to success as an Esports professional. This is more than just gaming and it is not just about becoming a pro Esports player; this is a course that gives you a range of skills required to be part of a rapidly growing industry that includes shoutcasters, coaches, event managers, business individuals, social media managers, marketing executives… to name just a few.With ongoing digitalisation, technological advancements, and in the wake of the pandemic, recent figures show that this industry contributes £111.5m to the UK GDP each year with over 1.2 million adults in Britain saying they watch Esports and other competitive gaming events currently. These figures will continue to grow with Esports now being recognised by the IOC. 

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Mathematics or English Language.

This course includes a mix of practical and theory units that will not only develop your practical and analytical skills in coaching, shoutcasting and video production, but will also look at the fundamental industry needs of content creation and event management.All of this is underpinned by key theoretical understanding, along with health and wellbeing and business enterprise awareness. 

This full time course is taught in our Gaming & Creative Digital Studios. We provide specialist knowledge and skills to prepare you for the fast-growing Esports industry.This is a career-focused qualification with industry endorsement that enables you to learn underpinning knowledge, develop technical and transferable skills and gain experience in a variety of different sections of the Esports industry. 

All units are internally assessed units and are subject to external standards verification. – Present findings of your own research• Use case studies to explore complex or unfamiliar situations• Carry out projects for which you have a choice over the direction and outcomes• Demonstrate practical and technical skills using appropriate processesYour course culminates in a synoptic assessment that enables you to demonstrate you can identify and use effectively, in an integrated way, an appropriate selection of skills, techniques, concepts, theories and knowledge in realistic contexts, scenarios and activities. 

Studying this course could lead you into employment across a range of roles within Esports either individually or in teams. Alternatively, you could progress onto a relevant degree such as the Esports degree offered by our partners at the University of Chichester. There are many different opportunities within the Esports industry.
