Be Active

Keep playing the sports you enjoy

Whether you’re playing for fun and fitness or aiming to compete at the highest level, we offer you a wide range of high-quality extracurricular sporting opportunities through our sports teams. Importantly, you don’t have to be studying a sports-related course to take part in our sporting provision. Team trials are held before you start with us, so you’ll be ready to start training and playing as soon as you enrol.

To get involved in playing the sports you love, during enrolment simply complete a team sports form telling us what sport you want to be involved in. Additionally, if you compete in another sport, there are opportunities to take part in regional and potentially national competitions.

If you are part of a club outside of HSDC and would like the opportunity to represent the College in competitions, then please contact our Be Active & Be Adventurous Coordinator.

Katie Whittingham, A Level student

Everyone at the College was really helpful, and there’s lots of facilities, meaning it’s very easy to get your work done on time, and get good grades. The teaching and support was excellent, they were always on top of it, and made sure you got work done on time and you were challenged. Everyone is friendly and its really diverse, meaning you can get involved in lots of different things.

Conor Ward, BTEC student

I overcame a couple of barriers by working really hard to get the top grades. My experience was really good, with the course and the lecturers, the residentials and activities, together it was all really good. I had really great teaching support, I could always go to the lecturers and speak to them if I needed to.
