Alton College students wow the crowd with a performance of the global phenomenon, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’.
Talented students including Cailan Landscheit, who has been offered a place at the prestigious Performing Arts school in London, performed Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar to an excited crowd at our Alton Campus.
This was a whole college production with students from a wide range of subjects taking part in the band, performing, operating the lighting and sound desks, and supporting front of house. The 6-part live band rocked it out on a raised platform stage left and expertly carried the show through.
The industry standard lite deck staging was set out in the form of a cross with LED strip lights and floods lighting up the auditorium during the upbeat finale.
Natalie Randall, Director and Programme Leader for Arts and Humanities said:
“A musical provides the perfect opportunity to collaborate across departments and having the live band added something very special to this production and we are already planning what to do next year…watch this space.”
Stella Charman, Associate Governor added:
“I just want to say that this production was brilliant, especially the second half which really came alive.
Well done everyone, such impressive lead singers.”
