A Level students from HSDC’s Havant Campus got a taste for vibrancy, culture and creativity on a recent five-day residential trip to Amsterdam.
The students and staff including Fine Art Course Manager Mark Kellet, enjoyed the sights of Amsterdam as well as visiting various creative spaces which will in turn support the students with their studies and upcoming exams.
Students were given the unique opportunity to visit a range of galleries and museums including the Van Gogh Museum in addition to cycling around the Kröller-Müller Museum grounds and visiting A’DAM Lookout where they were able to take in the beautiful views.
HSDC Havant student Elise added:
“I recommend the Amsterdam trip because I made lots of new friends and had fun exploring the city. My highlights include the bike ride around the Sculpture Park, and visiting the museums, especially the Van Gogh Museum.
I also enjoyed testing my limits by trying out the swings at the A’Dam Lookout. Overall, it was a great trip, and I already want to return to Amsterdam!”
Fine Art Course Manager Mark Kellet said:
“We soaked up all the culture the city has to offer in five days and it was clear to see all the students had an amazing time. With exam topics in mind the students searched for inspiration and it wasn’t hard to find!
A highlight for me was cycling around the Kroller Muller museum grounds and seeing the students enjoy the freedom to ride around and see a range of sculptures and contemporary artworks.
Planning for 2025 is well underway and I’m excited to take another group to this inspirational city!”
It is always hear such great feedback from our students and staff and we can’t wait to see what is in store for our next cohort!
