Excitement, joy and relief was felt amongst HSDC students as they collected their highly anticipated exam results.
Students were also invited onto campus to celebrate their fantastic achievements with their fellow classmates, teaching staff, friends and family.
HSDC Havant student Molly Petipher was thrilled to share that she achieved A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics and is heading to Oxford University to study Medicine.
Molly, who joined HSDC from Admiral Lord Nelson School said:
“My favourite part of my college experience has been making new friends and studying Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics which I loved, alongside excellent support from my teachers.
During my time at HSDC, I was part of the Be Aspirational Programme and the Oxford Mentoring Scheme and am now going to study Medicine at Oxford University with the hopes of becoming a doctor in the future.”
A Level student Finley Duncan, who also studied at the Havant Campus was over the moon to share that he had achieved AAA* in Mathematics, Physics and Music alongside an A for his Extended Project Qualification on ‘Can Hydrogen Energy Help Solve the World’s Disparity in Development?’.
Finely, who previously attended The Petersfield School added:
“I have really enjoyed the opportunities and experiences HSDC have given me to broaden my knowledge and understanding in a range of different areas.
My courses have prepared me for my next steps after college in terms of knowledge, but also in employability skills such as time management and organisation.
Later this year, I will be undertaking an Electrical and Electronic Degree Apprenticeship with Rolls Royce PLC in Solihull.”
HSDC Havant student Riana Iglesias also showcased tremendous success, achieving an outstanding A*A*A in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Riana added:
“My favourite part of my HSDC experience has been the supportive and helpful teachers alongside fun lessons and lots of opportunities to make friends.
HSDC supported me with my university application, and I am now headed to Brighton and Sussex Medical School to study Medicine.”
David Kunarodzhvimute, who studied A Levels in Mathematics, Economics, Philosophy and Russian was delighted to share that he achieved an incredible A*A*A*A*.
David added:
“My favourite part of my college experience was studying Mathematics, Economics, Philosophy and Russian alongside taking part in extra-curricular activities such as the Politics Society.
My next steps after HSDC is to study at the London School of Economics and Political Science with the hopes of a career within Politics or investment banking in the future.”
Vocational and T Level students were also celebrating their hard work and dedication at HSDC’s South Downs Campus.
This included Lucy Inwood, who studied a T Level in Health and Nursing.
Lucy, who previously studied at Horndean Technology College added:
“My favourite part of my HSDC experience was getting to practice on the mannequins and go on placement, which was a valuable experience and has prepared me for my university course.
The Health and Nursing T Level course has helped enhance my employability as I was able to have real-life, invaluable experiences which I could use for my university interviews. I could use scenarios to answer questions they asked me.
I am now headed to Southampton Uni to study a dual Masters in Adult and Mental Health Nursing”.
In addition, Kaci Sheen who also studied Health and Nursing at the South Downs Campus said:
“My favourite part of my HSDC experience was meeting new people and having supportive lecturers. The practicals were the best part of the course because we always have a laugh whilst doing the serious stuff.
My course has helped my employability as it has given me hands-on experience – this particular teaching style really helped me learn.”
Kaci, who previously studied at Crookhorn College, hopes to continue her studies at the University of Bournemouth where she will study Midwifery.
Elsewhere on the Alton Campus, celebrations continued with former Amery Hill student Dwayne Nobleza who is going on to study Material Science & Engineering at Imperial College London.
Dwayne, who achieved an A* in Mathematics, B in Further Mathematics, A in Physics and B in Chemistry added:
“Alton College has helped me secure an offer from the highest-ranked university for STEM as of 2024-2025 which is Imperial College London.
My advice to anyone considering studying A Levels at Alton College is to have fun and put the work in, trust in the process and try to make studying and revising fun, it helps.”
Meanwhile, Jack Parnell, who previously studied at Weydon School achieved an impressive A in Mathematics, a B in History and an A in Politics.
Jack added:
“My favourite part of my Alton College experience was the teachers as I had a really good relationship with them which helped a lot.
My advice to future students would be to keep up with homework and research the subject as much as you can, it will pay off.”
Thorfin Rolfe, who also studied at Alton Campus and achieved a B in Geography, a C in 3D Design and a Distinction* in Engineering added:
“My favourite thing about Alton College was studying Engineering – the teachers were fun and inspiring.
My advice to anyone wanting to follow in my footsteps is to get all of the coursework completed as soon as possible, if you find yourself ahead, that’s great, stay ahead.”
